The girl who could not sleep.

The beautiful orange glow slowly shy away.
Dreary blackness creeps in.
Goodnights were said.
Hugs were felt.
Kisses, planted.

In the darkness of her room, she could hear her sister's breath.
Sister is in deep sleep, she thought.
Wishing in vain she could do the same.
Counting sheeps does not help one bit.
Shutting her mind does not do the trick.
She tossed and turned, creaking the bed.
Said a little wishful prayer, hoping that she is not the girl who could not sleep.
